Turf Roll Calculator — How Many Rolls of Turf Do I Need

Work out how many turf rolls you need to lay a new lawn.

Length of the lawn area to be turfed (rolls are laid edge to edge)

Width of the lawn area to be turfed, measured at the widest point

Price of one 1 m² turf roll, for a delivered-cost estimate

Include 5% wastage

Adds the waste factor below so you order enough turf to trim at edges and around obstacles

How We Calculate This

Each standard UK turf roll covers approximately 1 m² (610 mm × 1640 mm).

Formula: Rolls = Area ÷ 1.0 m² (rounded up)

A wastage allowance (5% for a simple rectangle, 10% for curves, 15% for highly irregular lawns) covers trimming at edges and around obstacles. Set it under Advanced options.
